Wild Wielangta

Protecting Wielangta’s threatened species and diverse native forests

What can you do?

We really appreciate the effort you have made to come to this site.

We are all volunteers and always welcome new energy, ideas and help. Let us know what your special skills are. Email us at wildwielangta at gmail dot com. Here are some ways that you might like to help:

• Participate in flora and fauna surveys in Wielangta – whether you have special expertise or would like to come along on surveys just to learn more

• Share information from this blog site

• Join the Wild Wielangta Facebook Group and Cause.

• Subscribe to the blog, sign up and comment on the postings in the blog. They will be moderated.

• Talk with people to let them know what is happening in Wielangta and online.

• Write a letter or email Premier David Bartlett (c/o Parliament House, Hobart, Tasmania 7000), Federal Minister for the Environment, Peter Garrett and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd (both c/o Parliament House, Canberra, ACT 2600) asking them to stop logging Wielangta Forest.
(Use the sample letters as a basis for your own words.)

• Ring Forestry Tasmania (1800 367 378) to ask them what they are doing and why. The responsible forest manager for Wielangta is Steve Whiteley.

• Write Letters to the Editor of The Australian and The Age, as well as local papers.

• Ring Talkback radio.

• Donate to enable the Wielangta campaign to continue. Donations made out to “Wild Wielangta – South East (Tas) Forest Protection Group” can be sent to Wild Wielangta, PO Box 420, Sorell 7172, Tasmania.

• Display Wild Wielangta information at Salamanca Market – if you have a stall.

• Suggest other ways you would like to participate, or in which you think we need to be active.

We hope to inspire action.

Hello, Congratulations on your web page. We have a house at Lady Bay, and would like to get hold of 110 post cards. We should easily be able to get friends to send off that number. Thanks Lyn Martinez
